You don’t need us to tell you it’s a tough job market out there. Graduate roles and internships have hundreds of applicants per position.
Studying for the CFA Program Level I (and beyond!) is an excellent means of getting your CV to stand out in the crowd, as well as giving you the edge in interviews.
Whether your current degree is finance related or not, CFA Level I will give you the fundamentals in topics as wide-ranging as stats, economics, accounting, asset valuation and portfolio management.
Clearly this depends on your subject! For degrees relating to finance, investments, economics or accounting you will notice a lot of overlap, which makes your life a bit easier.
For less relevant but technical subjects such as maths, natural sciences, computing or engineering, your knowledge will be useful in understanding concepts on stats, asset valuation and portfolio theory.
If you are studying humanities then this may take more work, but our introductory courses in accounting and financial maths will help to set you up.
Remarkably you can usually start your CFA journey near the start of an undergrad journey.
The CFA Level I exam window must be no more than 23 months before your expected graduation date. In practical terms this means that you can enrol for CFA Level I in your first year of a three-year degree, though the actual CFA exam may be at the start of your second year.

The CFA exams are mostly multiple choice, each question examining a single “learning outcome statement”. This may seem easier than long unstructured essay questions, but the CFA exam is designed to test candidates from around the world on an equal objective basis. Don’t underestimate the challenge!
CFA Level I typically requires around 300 hours of studying.
At Quartic our tutors, and our library of learning tools, can guide you on creating a timetable to fit around your academic studying.
