The CFA UK Certificate in Climate & Investing considers all aspects of climate and climate change in the context of investment decision-making. What are the key issues? How do we identify them? And how do we then incorporate them into our investing? We shall answer all these questions, and many more!
This exam is designed primarily for investment practitioners of all levels, though has plenty to offer those in scientific or industrial fields as well. You may still be a student, starting a career, or be a seasoned professional. We have seen particularly strong interest from candidates in wealth management, banking, advisory roles and ratings agencies. The application of this qualification is broad indeed.
Quartic provides CCI candidates with an intuitive and informative approach: a detailed workbook covering all topics, accompanied by a library of inspirational on demand classes and an extensive question bank with mock exams. Live training, whether online or face-to-face, can also be arranged on a bespoke basis.
For the CCI Core and Premier packages, you will receive from Quartic:
• Workbook: An e-book containing slides that cover the whole syllabus (a printed workbook is available for a small supplemental fee to cover printing and shipping).
• Classes: On-demand classes totalling 15 to 20 hours of detailed explanations and discussions, covering every part of the syllabus.
• Question bank: An extensive question bank containing more than 600 exam-style questions and testing every section of every chapter.
• Mock exams: two full-length mock exams, each of 100 questions, using the question style and format of the actual exam.
• Tutor support: Our support runs from the day you enrol with us until the day of your exam. You will be given a dedicated e-mail address, and the faculty will do their best to respond to each message by the end of the next business day. If you have booked the Premier package then you will have a named tutor and will be offered one-to-one Zoom support.
• Finance Essentials: The exam and the syllabus assumes a basic knowledge of financial concepts, including accounting and portfolio management terminology. At Quartic we know that many candidates are from fields outside finance or have recently completed a non-financial degree. Finance Essentials are an additional section providing background knowledge on asset valuation, portfolio theory and financial analysis, ideal for those candidates looking for a bit more background.
CCI Revision includes the question bank and mock exams.
There are ten chapters:
The exam contains 100 mostly multiple choice, and including some (multi-question) item sets. There are a few alternative question structures such as drag and drop. Candidates have 2 hours 20 minutes to complete the paper.
You can sit the exam either at a Pearson VUE centre or at home using the OnVUE Online Proctoring service. This means that you can take the exam almost anywhere in the world.
To pass the exam you will need a score of at least 60 to 70%. The exact pass mark is not published but is adjusted to take account of question difficulty. You get your provisional result immediately at the end of the exam. The pass rate is estimated to be 60 to 75%.
When you pass the exam you will receive the CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in Climate and Investing.
Quartic Online
Candidates are given 12 months access to the Quartic Online portal in line with CFA UK policy.
There are no formal prerequisites to studying the Certificate in Climate & Investing. A knowledge of the investment process is useful but not essential. You will also see accounting and mathematical terminology, but proficiency in these areas is only required to a minimal extent. Accounting concepts will be fully explained when you meet them.
