The oil and gas industry is a capital intensive industry often requiring investments of many billions of dollars in single projects. At the same time, it presents various risks and challenges not least of which is the seemingly ever-changing international oil price. Quartic’s economics course focuses on the cash flow of the oil and gas industry – where money is spent, where it is earned and what we can do to minimize risk.

The Economics of the Oil and Gas Industry

Length: 2-5 online sessions of approx. 2.5 hours depending on client requirements. (this course can be customised to client requirements)

An introduction to the economics of the oil and gas industry. This course is suitable for students who have limited experience of the commercial and economic areas of the oil and gas industry and who are new to concepts such as NPV and IRR. The course gives student a chance to utilise and adapt simple cash flow models (in MS Excel) and to investigate the economic performance of real life projects based on published information.
