Is the IMC right for you as a student or graduate?

The IMC is ideal if you:

  • Are studying a finance, economics, maths or STEM degree and want a recognised investment qualification before you graduate
  • Come from a non-finance degree but wish to work in the investment world or the broader financial sector
  • Are in a temporary or non-finance role while applying to graduate schemes and want to boost your CV

There are no formal entry requirements for the IMC, so you can start after leaving school, while still at university or soon after graduating.

Fitting IMC around university studies or your first job

The IMC typically requires around 100 hours of study for Unit 1 and 140 hours for Unit 2.

If you are trying to juggle this with lectures, an internship or interview preparation then we can guide you on how to design your study plan.

Such an approach may include:

  • Spreading your IMC studying over several terms, with a weekly progress target.
  • Using holidays (especially over the summer) without detracting too much from social activities.
